Alumna brings to light a
photo album that alters
views on the Holocaust

during periods of her childhood,
Rebecca Erbelding ’03 kept a diary.
In it, she recorded her thoughts and
impressions, and she saved cherished
mementoes, such as her admission ticket to the U.S.
Holocaust Memorial Museum – a place she visited with
her Girl Scout troop when she was 12 years old.
During at least one period of his career, Karl Hoecker
kept a photo album. In it, he included photographs and
brief descriptions, documenting his promotion to adjutant
at the Auschwitz concentration camp and activities of
